Is This Real Labor Starting Soon Or False

Sunday I had three pains that I could keep track of that felt like real contractions. The first one was really bad. And ever since then, I've had lower back pain. Wednesday I was just walking normally while cooking, and I had this pain in my lower left stomach that littlerally knocked me over. It lasted ten minutes. Then I had two more that were less painful and only lasted about five minutes, every twenty minutes for the next hour. And hot flashes, dizziness, and soreness in the stomach., hips, and back for another hour until I took a bath. So altogether it all lasted two hours. Then it started feeling better. Early this morning I had some slight pain in my back and lower stomach. So I took a nap. Then the pains came again in my lower right stomach, so bad that I couldn't sleep. Is this a sign of labor? Should I be on the lookout? Is there anything the dr. can do to make sure the baby isn't ready sooner than the EDD, like u/s, or doppler? I just feel so out of it from all of this. Thanks.

Well, its' possible they could be contractions. But remember in order for it to be labor your contractions need to be at a regular interval for 1 hour. I remember that I would sometimes get really painful gas when I was pregnant and thought they could be contractions...it was just the d__n burrito I ate that made me feel that way...haha! Your doctor will know when you're ready to go into labor...you'll be dilated.
