Did you find this information out at a doctors visit? They should have explained the risks, if any, if you have any sort of condition. If you are concerned, make another doctor's appointment and have them explain to you fully what your situation is. Good luck, and I pray all is well with you and your baby!

I know that normally the placenta is positioned to the back of the uterus, but I don't know that it being positioned to the front is a big deal. I agree with MelissaP, call your OB's office and ask to talk to the nurse about it. Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way.

Hi gg4life having the placenta at the front poses no extra risk than if it were growing at the back as long as it is not low (especially if you get a c-section). Mine grew at the front with my son & I was still able to have a completely natural water birth. The only thing is you'll need to do ALOT more forward leaning from about 32wks so that bubs will be in an optimum postion for labour & birth. Sometimes having the placenta at the front makes the baby be posterior (spine to spine) as they like to face the placenta, but doing LOTS of forward leaning will encourage her to turn to an anterior position (spine to tummy).
