h__lo, I had an incident on the 26th of january but then on the 6th or 7th i had my period. Now from what I have been reading I'm very confused. I read that your not fertilized until the 3rd week so i dont understand why you can not have your period within the first 2 weeks of pregnancy. I know they say you can have spotting on the 3rd week but im talking just normal period. Now it has been almost 4 weeks since the incident and I didnt think much of it until all these things i was feeling lately i noticed were all symptoms. The last 2 days I have had pretty bad cramps like the ones before your period. I am super tired and everyone says im really whiny. Also i took a pregnancy test but since it is only the 3rd week and it only works at least 10 days after fertilization I am really sure now that i took it too soon. Please help me with any feedback you may have thank you kindly.

i think i can answer your question. from what i know when you have a regular period you are shedding your uterine lining because the egg was not fertalized so when ure are pregnant most people usually dont have a period. but ive heard that some do have periods while preg and i dont know why

but candy what im saying is the egg is not fertalized until the 3rd week at least that is what i have heard so if it is not fertalized yet cant you have your period?? I dont know I just was thinking about that.

no, actually i think the egg gets fertilized then takes about a week to implant so if you have a 28 day cycle ovulation would occur about the 2nd week then implantation of the fertilized egg would come about the 3rd week and come the forth week there would be no period, btu i guess if your cycle is a diff length then this could be different. as far as i know the egg is only viable for about 12-24 hours and sperm live for about 3-4 days on average(sometimes longer) so it really couldn't take a week to fertilize. but i may be wrong

when the egg is fertilized, you are considered 3 weeks pregnant. But only because pregnancy is based upon last menstral period date. A lot of women don't know when they ovulate, but they do know the date of their period, so is easier for them to go by that. The sperm can live b/w 3-5 days in your body. If you have a a 28 day cycle and you sleep with someone two weeks after your period, that is approx about time for ovulation, this differes from woman to woman. The egg lives for 12-24 hours after release from your overy. So, if the sperm and egg meet in that time (and the sperm gets through) the egg will fertilize, and you will be considered two or three weeks pregnant, depending on how long ago your last period was... Confusing, I know :-P
