It good to start praticing lying on your side for now. I am 23 weeks and still have a hard time lying on my side. I wake up on my back and belly sometimes and just reposition myself. It takes a lot of pratice. I find that putting a pillow between my legs help and your left side is best. Good luck

It's probably ok in the first trimester. I'd make the most of it while you can. I can't sleep on my side for long because I get pains in my hips, even when surrounded by 50 pillows! I'm only comfortable on my back and I know that's wrong. So, I just don't sleep anymore. I'm so exhausted. Hope you have better luck with your pregnancy.

Lissi I have the seem problem my side hurts and my neck I find I am shrudding my shoulders a lot too. I tried sleep with and with out pillows lying side ways on the bed nothing works I think I get about 3-4 hours rest a night !!! I guess it is pratice for when the baby comes.

Lol! Exactly! It's nature's way of making you forget all about sleep so that you can devote all your attentions to a helpless little being. I just didn't think it would start so soon!

i'm 25 weeks and still sleep on my belly some. I try the other positions but none seem as comfortable. I guess when I get to big to sleep on my belly, I just won't be able to anyway! lol

I'm 31 weeks and whenever I am on my side, but putting too much pressure on my belly (the half-belly lay), baby starts making a huge fuss and I have to roll up further onto my side. I guess she doesn't like to be squished.

I can still lay on my belly, but I don't really like the feel of it, so I lay on my side, sometimes I'll lay half ways on my belly. But I've found that everytime I lay on my side, particularly my right side, baby cuddles up on my left side, I guess he/she doesn't want to be squished lol.
