Losing Baby Due To Sex

Hi ladies, just wanted some other opinions, my mom is a nurse on the post-partum floor and she talks to nurses on labor and delivery. Well, I'm 14 weeks and just now getting comfortable with having s_x with my husband, and my mother has to tell me this story!!! A women came into labor and delivery because she was having fluid leaking out, but also told them that her and her husband were having s_x, well she was 21 weeks along and lost the fetus! Now I'm freaked! My mother was saying that she must of had an incompetent cervix or something, I just don't see how it's possible to rupture the amniotic sac from s_x! What are your thoughts, anyone!!

I have had s_x throughout my pregnancy at very early stages I am now coming up to 7 months and still have s_x with my husband. Each individual is different!

Leahp, if you're worried check with your gyno. There is a small percentage of women that are considered high risk, but in a healthy pregnancy s_x is no prob

She probably did not loose the pregnancy due to having s_x. There was probably something else wrong. You can do just about anything with a normal pregnancy. I've read and been told a million times that if you do have a miscarriage, whatever you were doing did not cause it. It was probably a chromosome (sp) defect or infection and there's nothing you can do. The only thing I was told to seriously avoid is scuba diving in deep water!!!! There's an issue with pressure. Otherwise, do whatever you want. I'm sure in your 3rd trimester there are some things you should avoid but they're probably common sense.

I agree with Heidi she probably had some other problem that she was not aware of. Talk to your doctor I'm sure s_x is fine.

Thanks ladies, that's what I was thinking. I just have been feeling horrible for my hubby these past three months(1st trimester), we really only had s_x maybe three times, well now I'm finally getting my drive back!! Plus I get to hear all of my mom's stories and I'm sure some of these nurses during their gossip fest don't get all the facts right! I'll tell ya one thing!! My husband and i both agreed once the little bambino is born we're getting rough!!! We just take it easy as of now and love the closeness!!!

I know what you mean. I'm in my first trimester and my poor fiance is being starved. I can count on one hand how many times we've done the deed since I found out I was pg. Ha ha! He's been really good about it though. I'm really suprised all those nurses are telling those stories since they of all people should know what causes a miscarriage and what doesn't. I wouldn't worry about a thing. I quit worrying about a week ago. I quit reading stuff on what not to eat, what some people tell you NOT to do. I'm like, whatever. Back in the day, nobody knew that and there wasn't like an epidemic of miscarriages due to women eating hot dogs! Ha ha!

Leah, I am not sure that s_x can prematurely cause delivery of a fetus, unless there was another problem. Now perhaps the man in your mom's story had a 50ft. wanker, in which case the lady would have far more problems than what she did!!!

Heidi, I have disagreed with you in the past... But AMEN for hot dogs!!!! I read somewhere that women should also avoid nuts during pregnancy, because the risk of the fetus developing nut alergies in utero!!!!! If it weren't for hot dogs and peanut b___ter, these last few weeks, I'd have eaten nothing!!!!

Lovely - March 22

well, just not togather, as my post might insinuate! lol!

Leahp - March 22

Ha!! 50 ft. wanker!! That's great!! I was kind of thinking that as well!! Plus a friend told me, you never know what else they may of been using. GEE!! I just don't find pregnancy a time of experimenting!! Sure there's new grounds to explore as our bodies change but using crazy beads or who knows what else?? I know exactly how you feel Heidi!!! The first trimester was just not a time for doin the deed!!! It'll come around, my deal was actually feeling comfortable with it again, I was such in a protective mode for the baby and not thinking about my hubby or me, just the baby!!! Which I know will be apart of life once the little tike is born!!! So take time now for the hubbies!!!

Listen ladies, my wife was not into s_x once she got pregnant and that was fine with me. I resigned myself to the fact that s_x was something popular when "dating." Marriage is a death sentence for s_x. The old joke goes, How do you get a women to stop sleeping with you? Marry her!

Leahp - March 22

I beg to differ Hun!!! My husband and I started having the best s_x of our lives after we got married!! During dating your still trying to figure eachother out and deal with "how much time should I devote to boyfriend vs. friends" The whole 4 years my husband and I dated we were trying to figure out our s_x drives me being crazy h__y and him content with twice a week!! Also, moving in with eachother, finding jobs handling bills, going out with friends!! UGGHH! Now marriage has brought all of this to a rest!! We have time to concentrate on eachother and what we love in bed! I'm sorry if you think marriage is death to s_x!! I've heard the same from other men at work, but hasn't it picked up after the baby was born???

Lovey - I went a whole week where I was on a hot dog kick. We had chili dogs morning, noon and night. Along with salty potato chips and dip!!!! I woke up one night so hungry that I threw two dogs in the microwave at 4 a.m. and I ate one and the dog got the other! He just loves the way I eat so much and so often. But he doesn't get as much cus I can really pack it in!!!! We always take him with us if we have to do quick shopping out of town and we stop at McDonalds. I swear he recognizes the arches. I usually share my large fries with him but this last trip I ordered him a small cus I can woof down a whole box myself! Of course he doesn't get them fresh out of the bag. One at a time as we eat! McDonalds fries are my newest craving. I'm going to get SOOOO fat! I'm glad the closest McDonalds is 35 miles away or I'd be a cow right now!

Our baby isn't here yet. My wife is 8 months pregnant still. And what I was saying is that I am not going to pressure my wife into doing something she doesn't have the drive to do right now. And because s_x is not the most important thing to our relationship right now, I am fine with it. When you are dating, the reason the s_x is great is because it is new and exciting. I think that is what makes it exciting.

monica - March 22

heidi, where do you live... mcdonalds 35 minutes away.... I love mcdonalds and probablly eat there once a week. I have a mcdonalds 5 miles away... so that can be dangerous.

Heidi - March 22

I'm in Wabasha, MN. Small town on the Mississippi. Home of Grumpy Old Men! We just have a Subway and Dairy Queen. They're not as good as McDonalds! Ha ha!
