Lowering Blood Pressure

Im 19 weeks pregnant, and have been tol my blood pressure is higher then normal. Please give me any tips or advice to help me LOWER my blood pressure over the next months!

change your diet. Diet is the main cause of high blood pressure.

im in the same boat......decrease your sodium intake (salt), take walks, try to avoid stressful situations, dont take hot showers. Are you a highstrung person? if so take it easy.

Drink lots of water, make sure you're getting enough calcium and sleep on your left side. If your blood pressure gets too high, your doctor can prescribe meds that are safe during pregnancy. It's not as scary as you might think--I had PIH with both of my pregnancies and now have two healthy kids.

I would stay away from taking meds to control your blood pressure. It is common knowledge you can lower it thru diet and exercise. So there's no need for medication.

and if you are a high - anxiety person...something as simple as taking peaceful walks away from traffic can relax your mind taking an edge off anxiety thus lowering blood pressure.
