Marijuana Before I Knew I Was Pregnant

PARANOID - August 8

I live in San Diego CA and before I got pregnant I was know to take a hit of marijuana here and there. HOWEVER when I found out I was pregnant I stoped!! I had my bloodwork done about 4 weeks ago saw my OBGYN today and he says to me... "Your drug screen came back positive for marijuana" I was shocked... it had been about 3 weeks since I used before my bloodwork.. and i hardly ever smoked, I thought I would have been clean by then, so I told him the truth, "Dr. that was before I found out I was pregnant, I quit when I found out" and that was the end of the topic... MY question is DOES HE HAVE TO REPORT THIS TO CPS??? SHOULD HE HAVE DISCLOSED TO ME THAT HE IS GOING TO REPORT IT IF HE IS?? I have been a patient of his for 8 years he delivered my last 2 children and I have never had a positive drug test during any of my pregnancies or deliveries. If he does report it can any one share their experience with me as to how it turned out? Does anyone know the answer or am I just being paranoid? I want what is best for my baby that is why i quit as soon as I found out.

you were even drug tested. but since this is slowly turning into a police state you should probably be a little concerned. he will probably be testing you in the future with out your knowledge or consent, if you are still testing positive it may become a problem. mj stays in your system for up to 3 weeks, if you haven't had anymore you should test negative from here on out. sorry that your cost_tutional rights have been violated, but under the current climate theres probably nothing you can do about it.

I have state medical insurance so they have to drug test, medi-cal's rules. I have not been using since i found out i am pregnant so i am not concerned about them testing with or with/out consent I just don't want CPS in my business. The level of mj had to be very small so I dont know what he will do.

you probably have nothing to worry about along as you don't test positive again. i hope someone from CA who has exp in this area will answer your question. i am only able to give you my best guess--sorry.

Thank you, it would be good if I could get some response from people in CA maybe I would not feel so nervous and ashamed.
