I live in Ontario, Canada and we're ent_tled to 52 weeks leave at 55% pay. Is it the same in the US?

NO!! I wish I lived in Ontario!! I'm not sure if I'll get any pay at all. I have been at my job since October 2004 and am due at the end of Septmeber. Since I haven't been here a full year my job doesn't even have to be held for me to return to within 12 weeks. This company doesn't even have sick leave. I don't know if I will keep this job after I have the baby. I sure would like to work from home, or part-time at the office.

I have a good benefits package and I am ent_tled to 8 weeks with 100% pay. I am in CA and state law also offers an additional 6 weeks at 60% pay as of July, 2004. Since my job will only be held for 12 weeks, I'll be able to have 8 weeks at 100% pay and 4 weeks at 60% pay. I know a lot of people with no paid leave - Canada has us beat for sure when it comes to maternity leave.
