hi, I have told my manager that I will be taking the 6 weeks leave. I had to call my corporate office and they faxed me the leave of absence papers, and on those you have to put down your leave date as well as your return date. I havent filled them out yet b/c I do not know for sure when I will be leaving. They told me they dont need them till a couple of weeks or even the day before I leave!!! hope this helps

Well I told my bosses at around 13 weeks but the curtious time frame would be around 4 months before I think. That way you give them time to find someone to replace you. Soon enough you'll be showing and it will be hard to hide. The reason I told my bosses so early is because for one I work in an office with 5 people total, and secondly we are very close and have wine at the end of every month to celebrate a good month. So trying to avoid drinking and not arouse suspicion was going to be difficult :)

Thanks ladies for your input. Reason I asked about this is that....I read somewhere (online) that you have to give your employer a notice atleast 15 wks prior to having your baby. Would I also include my doctor's note or not? I need to get paid and without the doctor's note I wont be able to collect disability (std) Sorry ladies.....I am really clueless on what move should I do. Give my notice w/ my doctor's note? or just give my doctor's note and thats it?

I would give as much info as you could just to play it safe!!

Im ent_tled to receive 12 wks leave under FMLA. I have std benefits so once Im on maternity leave I would still have some income (atleast) From what my employer said to me.....I can give my notice anytime they just have to know if Im goin in-active due to pregnancy or quitting? In regards to the doctor's note, I need to submit that to my insurance benefits (std) so I will be able to collect my disability. I will see my Dr on Feb 3rd, I plan to ask him to write me a note so I can give it to my insurance people. I hope he lets me....*crossfingers*

Wow! I've always had it good. I'm 11 weeks, but I've told my supervisor already because I have 3, soon to be 5 locations to take care of. They will give me a support person to help me out, especially when I'm gone. My supervisor is encouraging me to take 12 weeks.

Hey, Tess. That's good to hear. You shouldn't be working uncomfortably. A good employer will understand. I hope you enjoy the time and find some things to do that you otherwise would not have been able to since you're working. Take it easy and let us know (I know we have time) when the little one arrives.

Thank you :o) I can't wait to be off work. Hehehe
