Anyone out there ever diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse and heart murmur during pregnancy? Any complications or problems with your pregnancy?

Mimi, I was diagnosed with MVP while pregnant with my 2nd child. I had no pregnancy problems or complications related to this. My doctors told me it is a benign condition and should not interfere with pregnancy. Good luck!

My wife was diagnosed with MVP when she was a teen. She never had any complications. Five months after giving birth to our daughter, at the age of 31, my wife died suddenly. Cause of death was MVP with regurgitation. The only symptom she had was severe fatigue, both before and after the pregnancy, and she complained about it all the time, but the doctors kept saying that that was natural. They never checked her heart, even though they knew of her condition. I still wonder if they might have been able to detect something, but they kept telling her it was normal to feel as tired as she was. The autopsy revealed an enlarged heart, caused by MVP with regurgitation.
