Nervous First Time Pregnancy

I'm a nervous person when it comes to my health, and now being pregnant I'm always wondering if what I'm feeling is normal. Anway, is it normal to still feel a little crampy at 15 1/2 weeks. Also, I'm not showing a great deal is that normal. I exercise 6 days a week and eat a good diet. Thanks so much

It's very normal, and the cramping will continue throughout the second trimester. Every first time mom to be is a bit paranoid, hell, i'm pregnant with my third and still worry. As far as not showing goes, you seem right on track for someone who is fit/healthy and especially someone who is pregnant for the first time. With any subsequent pregnancies, you'll notice growth much earlier. Cudos to you for still exercising 6 days a week, I can barely manage 3. Good luck with your pregnancy. :o)

WOW! Kel 6 days a week, I'm a fitness manager and only do 3, but I just went to the doc yesterday and I just can't seem to put on weight!! He is getting a little concerned but since my uterus is at the right size and everything else looks great, he's giving me another month to gain 2-4 lbs. With you working out so many days a week, how much weight have you gained, we're the exact same weeks, so I was curious, because my doc said leave it at 3 days a week since my weight gain isn't coming on like I guess it should.

Thanks Tiffani and LeahP. Leah I'm 5'7 and like I said I workout 6 days a week (45 minutes cardio 5 days and lift 35 minutes twice a week). When I first found out I was preganay (4 weeks) and went to the doctor, she said she'd like me to gain a little weight. When I went for my 12 week they said my weight gain was good. Actually, I gained 10 lbs., which seems like a lot. Now at 15 1/2 I've probably gained a total of 13-15. I used to have a 6 pack but clearly that is gone, but like I said, I'm just concerend that I'm not larger. My regular pants don't fit, but I'm not as big as some other people I know. Hope this helps. I wish I had the problem of not being able to gain weight; you're lucky Leah! I'm sure the gain will be coming. Much luck you Leah and Tiffani! :)

One last question.... When you started to show were you showing everywhere? I'm showing only in my lower abdomen.

Kel~ Your weight gain sounds very healthy to me. I know if you're underweight or at a normal weight, you're encouraged to gain 35lbs, with the thinking that you don't have any fat stores for the baby to live off of. I'm 18lbs heavier than my "ideal weight", so my doctor put my target weight gain at 25lbs. Leahp~ I guess in many ways I'm jealous that you have a hard time gaining weight, I've always envied people like you. I tend to gain weight at the mere thought of a cheeseburger. I know it must be frustrating for you though when you're pregnant. If there were only a way for me to give you these extra 18lbs I'm carrying. Do you eat a low fat low calorie diet AND exercise? If so, that would make sense as to why it's so hard for you. Hey, as long as the doctor says the pregnancy is moving right along, then that would be enough rea__surance for me. Good luck ladies! :o)

Hi gals! I wish I had this problem when I wasn't pregnant! I always kept an eye on my weight and I did run and weight lift a lot but I gave up the running once I found out I was pregnant, now I just hike, walk, swim and lift 5lbs. I know that our metabolism raises for the baby and I do really eat a heatlhy diet, but I 've been letting go some now that I'm pregnant, like getting the 5% milk and the fatty custard yogurt, but I still love my salads and fruit, but pizza has been my favorite! I can't even think of eating fast food if I do I go to Subway and get the Veggie with extra cheese! I just eat when I'm hungry and try to eat good for the baby, I don't know what else the doc wants me to do!! Boy Kel gained 13-15 lbs. and working out 6 days a week that baby is going to be healthy, that's great!!! The doc did say I'm progressing well, so I'll just stick to my regimen, it'll come I'm sure!!
