Just curious if anyone else liked to drink and party alot before getting pregnant...and if you didnt gain much weight since you are now not consuming all those late night drinks and late night snacks on top of it now that you are pregnant? My hubby and I were ones that like to go out alot and I could tell it was hard for me to lose weight from all the extra beer calories. I am now 180 lbs and 5' 8 tall........and was wondering when I get pregnant (ttc now) if the null in so many extra calories may actually help me not gain too too much unnneeded weight over the normal expected amounts?

I don't think going out a lot and drinking const_tutes a 'better lifestyle'. I have a great, luxurious lifestyle--if I may say so-- but never drank too much. Went out shopped/travelled a lot, and Vegas was my backyard so to speak. Your hormones will dictate what happens to your body when pregnant. I lost 14 lbs. so far and I'm in my 6th month even though I try all this time to eat like a pig *lol. So, your drinking habit before you ttc have no effect whatsoever on how much you'd gain while pregnant.

I am sorry, to clarify,,, I meant losing weight becuz of being pregnant and eating healthy........and NOT drinking and eating excessively......that being the better lifestyle....not drinking being a good lifestyle. Thanks for your response:)

Ok, well then in that case I think it's what happened to me. Our cook used to make all these cakes and creamy foods I used to be crazy about---and then when I got pregnant, even just a bite/taste of something creamy ( no kidding--just a taste of it) would send me throwing up. I used to drink a lot of Coke as well and now when I do, it tastes of some chemical mix and not cola-like at all! So, I stopped that, too. I'm craving for fruits and juices...and not even trying to eat healthy at all! *lol. So-- in my case, YES-- I believe I lost weight because of it. Unfortunately, some people go the other way around *lol. They have more cravings of the high caloric foods--so, depending on how it'd turn out for you :).

Yes, I am hoping. I know its not healthy to lose weight while pregnant but I am hoping to not gain as much I possibly could....... My body has gotten so used to the extra calories every week it never has time to lose any of it:) What does your doctor say about losing weight? I thought as long as you are eating healthy and not starving yourself that all is well? So I hope that one month that maybe I would of gained 5 lbs...maybe I will only gain 2 because of my body getting used to not as much junk and calories. Wishful thinking, eh?? Yes, who know, I do not know what determines pregnancy hormones and how they react on one's body.....it is interesting how they work so different for everyone.

I used to party pretty often (about 2-3 nights per week) but I was not overweight I was 115 or so, then I stopped going out and tried to eat what the cook made (she is a began sp?) and then when I was three months pregnant I had lost about 12 pd, I think it had something to do with not drinking so much and having this new cook but after like one month I stopped eating her food..yuck! :( it would make me throw up all the time! so I went back to my normal food and now I weight 130! Cindy I wish I had your cook instead!

My cook is European :) and not a vegetarian-- lucky me, I know. Anyway, I was worried too in the beginning because although the doctor told me in the beginning 'Oh, you'd gain weight...'-- I was losing! So, in my 20th week u/s I asked how the baby was--and the doctor told me it's healthy and as big as it should be at that stage. All my tests and measurements, what- have-yous, were all normal, too. So, as long as you are feeling good, not hungry, eating well (consciously), have enough rest, no pains, taking vitamins etc. -- losing weight is not 'bad'. Now, I just hope I can keep this up even after I give birth haha. I can only hope but there are no guarantees that my appet_te for creamy foods and Coke won't come back! :(
