Is it easier than the pill or patch? Is it effective? What are the pros and cons. Thanks

Cathi, I was on the pill for forever. Then I changed to the Nuva Ring. It was effective for me, but I only used it three months before we decided to get pregnant. You put it in at the beginning of the month and leave it. You can't even feel it. Although, my husband said he could feel it during s_x so we would take it out and then put it back in afterwards. I did get a uti while I was using it, don't know if it was caused by the ring or not. I would recommend it though. Much easier than taking a pill every day. After the baby comes I will either go back on it, or I'm considering an IUD. Good luck.

The best thing about the Ring is you put it in during the beginning of your cycle, about day 3 to day 5, and leave it in for the next 3 weeks. So there's no remembering a pill daily or worrying if the patch is on properly. It's great in that regard. The one problem I had with it was my s_x drive decreased and my partner was bothered by it. They say you're not suppose to feel it during s_x, but when my partner and I discussed it, he made it obvious that it did irritate him. He didn't even want to have s_x due to that. What I would recommend though is Lunelle. It's like the Depo, in the sense that it's a shot, BUT it's monthly, instead of every 3 months, leading you to get a monthly period and thus way less side effects. Good luck with your decision.
