I know a ob u/s is for showing a baby and an abdominal u/s is for liver, kidney, and gallbladder, but is it possible for an abdominal u/s to show a baby also. Or is it a different in the transducer or the ultrasound itself.\?

An OB and an abdominal ultrasound are the same thing, the only difference being where they are looking. I had an abdominal ultrasound done when I was pregnant with my daughter, because I was having issues with my gallbladder. After the sonographer finished checking out my gallbladder and other organs, she went on down to my belly and showed me my little one having a good old time. So, yes, they are the same. There are 2 different types of OB ultrasounds, a transv____al one, and a traditional one. Transv____al, which is used in early pregnancy, is done through a v____al probe, while a traditional one is done on your belly. :o)

Thank you. Because the doctor I went to was very confusing. First he said my cervix was closed and asked me how long ago was my first pregnancy and than showed me picture of how my cervix was supposed to be,but I am bleeding and when menstrating it supposed to be closed. Then he asked me have I had an ultrasound and I said yes but it was an abdominal u/s, but he said I should have a ob u/s and I was wondering what is the different. Anyway the tech went to my stomach after she checked my kidneys, etc and thought I saw something but she went so fast I had only a glanced.
