Ovarian Cyst Positive Pregnancy Test

Hi - has anyone had positive pregnancy tests and then found out they have an ovarian cyst (and they're not pregnant)?

From what I have read it's pretty hard to get a false positive test - basically, if it's positve, you are pretty much sure to be preggers. Have you been to your doctors yet?

I hope you are right!! I have an appt. tomorrow a.m. but the discomfort in my groin was worrying me so I went to a walk-in clinic. I was worried about ectopic. The dr. said he didn't see any red flags to indicate that. I have had cysts before tho and the sensation is the same. I read somewhere that if you have a cyst a pregnancy test could be positive.

J - I have had problems with cysts since I can remember - since I was about 13 I think, and I am now 20 and nearly 14 weeks pregnant. I was put on birth control to try and stop the cysts and I stopped taking them, got pregnant 2 weeks later (quick, I know!) and have not had any problems since. **Baby dust to you** Good luck at your appointment. Please let me know how it turns out - I wish you the best!!!

Thank you Missy. I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you. I will definitely write back after my drs. visit tomorrow - if I have a cyst and am not pregnant (after 3 positive tests), it will be the weirdest thing I've heard of!

Are you worried about a cyst because of pain on one side? Have you had problems with them in the past? After 3 positives, I have to say congratulations because I seriously doubt it is just a cyst at this point! How far along do you think you are?

I think I'm about 5 1/2 weeks. I have had two cysts before, the last one was 6 years ago. I seriously hope that a positive means a positive!

I am pretty sure you are - three false positives are basically unheard of! I have read in several places now that the tests you buy in the store are just as accurate as the urine tests used by labs (if done correctly, of course). And after three, girl welcome to the club!! Will this be your first?

Missy - you have given me hope! Can you believe this is my 2nd! Five years later. I feel as though this is my first I am worrying over every little thing. I have been hoping for this baby for so long and I can't believe it is here. I have also just turned 37 so I worry about everything. I'm very excited for you - I'm a__suming this is your first? It is such a magical experience.

It is my first. It is soooooo amazing, but scary too. Every cramp, every feeling every anything I worry about. But I know that the baby is OK, just had an US two days ago and everything is looking good, I go back in three days (Monday) to hear the heartbeat - I can't wait!!! I am so excited. I don't know if you have been on the forum long, but I love it here. The girls all have given me hope about everything from the baby to my moody boyfriend - you would think he is the one who is pregnant!!! If you would like to keep in touch, you can email me at [email protected] I think at 37 you have a few more risks but not as if you were over 40. You should be fine if you take care of yourself and take it easy! I am glad that i am past the stage you are at though, I thought the exhaustion would never go away!! It will all be worth it in the end when I get to hold my baby in my arms for the first time, I am sure of that. I am glad I could give you some hope, good luck at the doctors again, and keep us all informed!!

Thanks Missy - same to you. I'm sure everything will go just fine - it is worrying. From now until forever you will worry worry worry. I would love to keep in touch with you. Thanks for your email address. Mine is "[email protected]". I'll let you know how tomorrow goes. Good luck for Monday!
