Ovulation Confusion

Hi all.. I was hoping someone could give me some advice. I'm trying to get pregnant and have been for the past 4 or 5 months; I stopped the pill at the beginning of June. I've been trying the CM (cervical muscus) method of tracking my fertile periods and have recently tried to track the position of my cervix and combining the two, but now I'm a little confused. I understand that when the cervix is highest and softest (like touching your lip) you're in a fertile period; when it's lower and harder (like touching your nose) you're not ovulating. With CM, when CM is at it's most and stretchiest (egg-white consistency) you're fertile and when it's thickest and driest you're not. I've noticed this month that when my CM was most and at the preferred clear Egg-white consistency that my cervix position was at it's lowest. When my CM was less and less (almost not there and really thick and white) my cervix was at it's highest and softest. So I'm a little confused. I had s_x with my husband on the day my CM was most present.. do I have any chances this month ? Should I pay more attention to my CM or to the position of my cervix.. ? Can anyone give me some advice.. ? I'd really like to get pregnant soon..
