Paiting While Pregnant

DH & I recently bought a house & have been painting the inside for about 2 weeks (off & on). I recently found out that I am pregnant. (WOO-HOO!) Could painting have done anything to the baby? & should I completely stop painting now? Thanks!

painting is okay as long as the room is ventilated!! I moved into a new home when I was just 8weeks along, I am now 21 weeks and baby is okay!! I am getting ready to paint her room!!!!Good luck to you!!!

It is completely safe to paint using water based paint. I looked into this too before I started painting a room in my house. I just kept the windows open a bit too, for ventilation. But as long as it is water based paint you can paint all you like.

It would only be an issue YEARS ago when paints were lead based. Don't worry. As long as you weren't completely shut in with the fumes (though they should be minimal) you'll be fine! I just painted my 8yr olds room, and am going to paint my 2 yr olds room tonight so that we can paint the NEW BABIES room!! :) Yup. Alot of painting going on in my house! Cept this time it's PINK!! *yay*

It has to do with breathing the fumes. Just make sure you have ventilation. I would still wear one of those masks you can buy just to be safe.
