Periods Pregnancy Need Advice

I have also posted this question on the signs of pregnancy forum but I thought it would be good to also ask here. I have been on the pill for several years, but was taken off of it by my dr for a month, during which time I had s_x. The following month the dr put me back on the pill and i have taken it faithfully since. I have had completely normal periods each month since then, up until this month when I had a lighter, shorter period. I haven't had any pregnancy symptoms other than recently gaining a bit of weight. (But of course, that can be caused by a variety of things.) I wouldn't even consider the possibility of being pregnant, however i have heard of instances where women had their periods well into their second trimester and now I am concerned. However, I went in for my annual pap/pelvic exam approx 14 weeks after I would have conceived. I have been told that if I were pregnant, at that time during the exam my doctor would have noticed my uterus was enlarged and my cervix would have appeared different. Plus, if I am pregnant, I would be in my 5th month, and I don't think I could possibly have managed to escape having any pregnancy symptoms this long. So, I guess I just wanted to get some opinions on how possible you think it is that I could be pregnant. Thanks!
