Never in my life have I been told I have not gained enough weight! And now, it is not a good thing!! I have to have another sonar in 2 weeks because I am 28 weeks and have not gained an ounce (lost 6 to 8 lbs in first 2 months due to a virus). Just 2 weeks ago my doc was telling me how larger women sometimes don't gain much if any weight and now she talks like it is a cause for concern. She said I measured bigger that what I am, so I thought that would be a good sign. She did say she didn't think there was a problem but wanted to make sure he is growing right. I know I shouldn't be, but I am concerned. Just 8 weeks ago my sonar was good. So, I'm sure he is fine, just a precaution, right girls??

How much do u weigh and how tall are you? Most over weight women can get away with not gaining any weight. As long as you are measuring where u should be, and are eating a healthy diet, there should be no cause for concern. I wouldnt worry too much about what your doctor says. Just keep doing what you're doing, you'll be glas u did when its all over. Good luck to you !

Thanks Cora. I am 5 ft 9 in and weight about 314. I am large boned, so I really don't look like I weigh that. My belly is slowly growing, so I know he is growing. It is frustrating not having the "perfect basketball tummy" like most women, but I think he is fine. Thanks again.

There's a yahoo group you should join called OPSS-L. It's for pregnant women at least 50lbs overweight. I belonged to it during my pregnancy and it was so nice knowing other people were worrying about the same things I was. About the weight gain, I was told that I shouldn't gain more than 15lbs during my pregnancy. My first pregnancy, I gained 18 lbs and ended up 15lbs lighter than I began the pregnancy. My second, I gained 50lbs. My first baby was 6lbs 4oz, my second 6lbs 14 oz, so I don't think my weight gain had much to do with the size of the baby. You'll probably gain a pound a week now that you're in the 3rd trimester, and that should be enough to make the doctor happy.

At 5'9 and 314 lbs I wouldnt worry about it Dustie, as long as you feel him growing, and you feel healthy and are eating nutritiously, there shouldnt be a problem. I had hoped to not gain any weight myself this pregnancy, but no such luck. And I know what you mean about not having the perfect basketball tummy...lol I am 38 weeks and have just finally got a cute round tummy, and ppl actually know I am pregnant. And not just getting fatter....lol I am also 5'9, my pre pregnancy weight was 245, I am now currently holding at 295. YIKES !
