Can you still have a positive pregnancy test a few weeks after giving birth? My boyfriend and I had s_x about 3 weeks after I had our son. I took a pregnancy test because I was a little worried and it came back positive.....I still haven't gotten my period and I am no longer nursing and I haven't had any symptoms of pregnancy....but I also didn't have any with my son....can anybody help ease my mind???!

According to the book I have in my lap, you can get pregnant 2 weeks after you give birth. Breastfeeding has shown to significantly reduce the risk of getting pregnant again (but it's not full-proof) however, if you weren't nursing then it is possible. Call your doctor and have him take a blood test right away. Don't start the birthcontrol now until you are sure you are not pregnant and if you aren't, start yourself on another form of birth control until (if) you are ready to concieve again. The pregnancy hormone should not be still present this many weeks after pregnancy so it's quite likely that you are pregnant.

Yes you can get pregnant right after having your baby . Don't start birth control till you are sure you are not pregnant.

Your pregnant hormones can still be in your system. So if the test comes back postive its possibly due to you just giving birth and the hormones are still there!
