I just had my baby 2 weeks ago. I am now being treated for ppd. I am on meds. Just wondering if anyone is going through the same thing and wants to talk.

I am curious whether you had any depression during your pregnancy. I am pregnant and I have occasional bouts of sadness. I have a family history of post-partum depression so I am watching it. I may be joining you once I have my baby. Did you ever have depression before pregnancy?

mariah - hi, I had ppd with my first son, for 2 months but I was never put on any meds (I refused them) I just had my second son (12 days ago) and I was seeing a councilor before I delivered for depression and I might had ppd again but im not sure if I should get put on meds this time as I am b___st feeding but I just remember how bad it hurt with my first son and I dont think I can go through that again, besides the fact that Ive been depressed for the past 5 months. Im here if you want to talk.

me- yes I did have some depression durring my pregnancy and also my whole life. But I just always through things on the back burner and never delt with it. I think after you have a baby your brain doesn;t just let you through it aside anymore. If you have a family history than you are at risk. But maybe not,you never know. The main thing is to just be aware of the signs. If you feel you are starting to get it than say something right away. my email is [email protected] if you need to talk about it. Ashlie- you are brave for not going on meds. I hope you are feeling okay now. I had my little one about 2 weeks ago and I need to have the meds because that aweful feeling i can't deal with on my own. It's too scary. So I hope these meds work. I'm taking remeron. SO far they are great for making me less anxious and the make me sleep great and take away that racing mind but I'm not sure how good they are with depression I need to wait a bit longer. ANyways anyone needs to talk it helps to know your not alone.

Mariah~ I went through ppd with my 2nd baby. I had some issues durring pregnancy but nothing of real concern atleast to me. But After I had her I couldnt even cope. She wanted my husband so bad, which made me feel like more c___p. My midwife didn't even address the issue. I had it for 2 years because no one wanted to listen. So when I got pregnant with our fourth my midwife put me on zoloft which helped and I am glad for her being there. Because I couldnt have done it for any longer. It was a hard time but I made it through. And no matter what always try to think positive because that helps to. If oyu wwant to talk to me you can e-mail me @ [email protected] I would love to try to help you/ Good Luck.
