Pregnant After Vasectomy

Has anyone on this board ever gotten pregnant after hubby's vasectomy? I am curious because mine had the V 5 months ago, and I am having numerous pregnancy symptoms now. Tingling br___ts, nausea, metal taste in my mouth, low back discomfort, frequent trips to bathroom. I feel like I must be going crazy. My last normal period was Dec 6, and then I had 1 day of light spotting on December 31, and then nothing. Any thoughts.

you're not going crazy. it is possible to get pregnant after a vasectomy. i knew someone who did several years after her husbands and he didn't believe her that he was really the father. he swore that she cheated. after a paternaty test he found out it was his and they also found out that the procedure is not 100%. did your hubby have a seman sample done yet? i know after the procedure they are suppose to have one done after so many months. good luck

No, he didn't go back with the sample. Thanks for your thoughts.

Anyone else have any thoughts. I am a little freaked out by this. Maybe it's all in my head.

have you taken a pregnancy test?

Well, I actually did take one, an Eckerd's Brand, last Tuesday night, and I thought I could see a very, very faint pink line after a couple of minutes, but I also was thinking maybe I was just seeing things. I figured I would wait another few days before testing again, but it's driving me nutso.

it sounds to me that you are pregnant. as i said you it is not 100%. call your dr. for a blood test. good luck

Did you have s_x around the 20th of Dec? Sounds like pregnancy is very possible based on what you've said. Go on the "Signs of Pregnancy" board and read "EXTREMELY faint line" (I could be a little off in the thread t_tle) Faint lines generally end up darker as you continue to test each day.

My hubby is getting a vasectomy after this pregnancy and he's already been told that although a vasectomy is a lot more effecient than the pill (obviously, we were on the pill when I last got pregnant, LOL!) there is always a possibility that "one will sneak in past the goal".

I am definitely starting to think that is what happened. I guess I will have to retest over the weekend. I just can't think of any other reason for the mult_tude of symptoms. I don't know what I was thinking, but we never used any other protection after the initial 6 weeks after his vasectomy, and seeing as how we don't do the "deed" very often, maybe he hadn't gotten rid of all his swimmers yet. I guess anything is possible.
