Pregnant Artists

I was wondering if there were any artists out there (painters, sculptors, potters, etc) that had to change some of their processes and media during their pregnancy. I haven't been doing much lately, out of fear of chemicals in glazes and dust from clay and stone, but I want to do some printmaking before the baby is born. Any information would be great on inks that are or wouldn't be safe. Thanks!

It is best to ask your doctor. There is always warning on the labels about birth defects when using some paint products. I love to paint and remodel. I decided to leave the painting to Dh while I'm pregnant. Take care

I know some paint products, especially those that are used only for artistic purposes can have some chemicals in them. Same thing with raw glaze materials for pottery. I was hoping someone could give me some information about stone carving (with hand tools), bronze casting, raku firing, or even using plaster while pregnant.

why dont you wear some sort of protective mask over your mouth and nose, ventilate your space and wear protective gloves if there is any worry. That might help you keep your options open
