Pregnant During The Summer

Who else is dreading this??? Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying my pregnancy but I am not looking forward to being huge during the hot weather. I've been slowly shopping for light summer clothes, but every time I look into my drawer and see my little summer skirts and bikini's, I get sad. Oh well, I know I'll get back into them next year, that's not what I'm worried about, I'm worried about how I'll deal with the heat, the swelling and oh man, labour during the dead heat of summer. =0(

I have the same thoughts. I'm in the lovely deserts of New Mexico. This is going to be insane. I usually wear jeans and dark colored tank tops in the summer. I have to, I work on cars outside for a living. What am i to do? I guess I'm a bit of a tomboy. But lately I've been considering those little floofy gauze skirts and those cutesy pastel monogramed tanks. Boy, will the guys at the shop make fun of me!!!!I don't care though. I wont be able to bend over to get to a car engine for much longer anyway!!! I think I'll spend alot of time in Kmart. It's got air conditioning....

I stress about that too - this being my first pregnancy, it's bound to be fun LOL! I live in Sunny Southern California and it's said that this will be the hottest summer in years - just my friggin luck LOL. Luckily we are about 15-20 minutes from the beach so I will just marroon my whale like body on the beach when June hits - j/k. We have a community pool too, so looks like I am going to scare the neighborhood kids with my bikini LOL! I like Sam's idea - KMart is only up the street from me!! EDD 10/2/05

Whoa, you're worse off than me, being in Mexico. I'm in Canada, but our summers are pretty freakin dry and hot, well for us anways. Thank gawd I live in a bas____nt suite so it keeps pretty cool and my bedroom is the coolest place in the house. But I'm already started to get cranky because the weather here is totally starting to warm up, especially today. Ugh, Walmart here I come!

LOL @ "marroon my whale like body" We don't have much beaches, probably more lakes than beaches. But the lakes and beaches are sooooooooo far from me. The beaches are down in the city and I'm the burbs and the lakes are WAY up in the mountains, so either way it's a good hr drive for me. Oh well, I'll probably drive my while like body up there too because I know my gf's will drag me out anyways, they're already starting to talk about it. It makes me scared thinking of in a bathing suite tho. My gf's keep telling me to wear my bikini because pregnant moms look cute in them, but I really don't think so! haha..maybe pet_tie pregnant moms look cute in a bikini, but I'm not pet_tie. I'm not over weight either, I'm just...I dunno? bigger? or thick? whatever! LOL

Man, I wish there was some way of editing your posts LOL....I forgot to add something. My EDD is Aug 26th. HOPEFULLY I'll deliver 2 weeks before, then maybe I can actually enjoy a teeny bit of the summer, since it's still super hot here in Sept.

April - April 20

My due date is July 18th... so I'll really only miss half the summer so that's not bad... I heard summer's really hard because being pregnant you tend to overheat no matter what the weather... thank God I won't be pregnant during the hottest time of the summer!

~S~ Lucky you - you may get a little bit of summer to enjoy - nope, not me! I will waddle my way until Labor Day and then some. Oh well, at least I have an excuse to eat ice cream all day long this year!!! I am a little worried about a bikini myself, I always said I would do it, no fears, but if I could see my knees they would be knocking together right about now I am so nervous about what a bikini will look like!! I have seen a few cute styles of maternity suits I may try - I don't worry so much about the belly as I do about the cheese thighs I am afraid I will develop!! Good thing is when the baby gets older we will be able to have the birthday parties outside unlike my birthday which is in January - too cold outside to BBQ or anything. Where in Canada are you? Have you found out if you are having a boy or girl yet? I am 4 months along, we find out on May 4 if it's a boy or girl - we are soooo excited! Have you thought of any names yet?

I think pregnant women look cute in bikinis... I vacationed in Florida in March.. and I wore my bikini the whole time... I'm proud of my cute pregnant belly :) At least you don't have to worry about lookin fat, cause you have a good excuse!!

April - That's very true...although I'm not sure if I'm brave enough. Last year I finally got myself into one. My bf and gf's thought I looked great, but I wasn't too convienced. It took me a very long time to actually be brave enough to wear one in public, I could just imagine how much harder it'll be, this time around. Missy - I'm in Vancouver B.C. I haven't found out what the s_x of my baby is, although my bf and I are very anxious. We went for my ultrasound a few weeks ago, but the Dr. couldn't see because baby wasn't co-operating. I'm 5 1/2 months and I think I look pretty good for how far along I am. I've got a belly for sure, looks more like a bloated blasketball. I have put on weight on my thighs and hips and b___bs, but none on my face or arms. We'll see, maybe I'll totally b__w up next month. That's what happened to my gf.

Well I am on board with you guys I am in the Caribbean. Soooo you can image what I am dreading cause when it hot it HOT. Good thing beaches are wonderful and near (5 -15 mins away). Dont know about the bikini yet. Hips and tighs are misbehaving too much.!!!Belly is cute though. Got to see my little one today moving up and down with no care in the world ,these are the best parts of my visits. It is kinda cool here now, oh yea on top of the heat I have Hurricane season to worry about that starts in June. Wonderful timing. !!!!! but thank God for my wonderful gift. Take care !!!!

Karen - you must LOVE that humidity too huh? LOL -- lord knows it's always fun here....I look forward to the nights of the Santa Ana winds - they are southernly winds that come and dry the humidity up so at least it is a bearable hot versus a hot humid stickiness....I was in the Bahamas last hurricane season (I told you about that one LOL) and I give you my praises for being able to handle that year in and year out. On a side note, when is the best time to vacation out your way?

Candy - April 20

Good luck to you all! I'm due in 3 days and I was boiling hot in the dead of winter. At least at work where my office mates like to crank the heat. I turned the heat down to 60 degrees to sleep. I do envy you that you can wear lighter clothing. I bought a bunch of stuff that I couldn't even wear because I was always so hot.

karen - April 20

Missy the best time would be between January and August. Going into September to December it becomes rainy and you would not enjoy your vacation. We however really welcome the rain.

Missy - April 20

When I went last year I went from Sept 1 to the 5 - the same time Hurricane Frances hit and we left right before another one hit - lucky us. We would like to go back one day, however it is very pricey to go there. I told my fiance that when summer comes here, he had better stand by with a spray bottle full of ice cold water, a fan, food and a big smile about it all because it's all his fault LOL!!

Karen - April 20

Good one Missy. Oh yea I forgot about my kick a__s plan to lose weight (20 pounds) for the summer to wear my s_xy to be binkni. This was to start in January. You can guess what happen to that plan. I told bf that it is all his fault too LOL. I try your suggestion good one!!!!!

Missy - April 20

I had already started my plan to look awesome this year in my bikini - I was more tone and slim than I had ever been - and bam! Look as my a__s now LOL!!!! I have to agree, pregnant bellys - cute --- cheese thighs - not cute.
