hi everyone!!! as some of you might have heard, i am going to my dr. on tuesday and he is going to put me on clomid...i was just wondering if you guys think its a good idea to start taking prenatal vitamins before conceiving (keeping my fingers crossed!!!) i have read that some women do that - what do you think?(i have heard that the risk of neural tube defects is greatest in the first month of pregnancy, before most people start on the vitamins)

Yes most definately. My doctor recomends prenatals to all women of child bearing age. They are a very complete multi vitamin.

Hi rose, given that the neural tube is completely formed and closed by the 6th week of pregnancy, it is best to increase your folate level as much as possible prior to conception. Best wishes to you:)

Prenatal vitamins are a good idea. They certainly won't hurt. Start taking folic acid for sure though.
