Is it safe to use proactiv while pregnant?

My doctor told me not to use it

Mine said yes, I could continue to use it... Go with your doc's advice. The bottom line is that nobody has a definitive answer regarding proactiv and other BP containing products during pregnancy.

I use topical clindamycin which my Dr. said was okay. I have also been told that products containing BP are okay to use since they are topical. Some Dr's are just more cautious than others. My Dr. had stated that since these drugs were being used topically, they would be safe. I also work with Derm's and they tend to lean towards this answer, too, although they are a little more cautious. They did confirm that topical clindamycin was safe when I told them I was using that. I believe that BP is too from what they have said.

Any topical application will be absorbed from the skin into the body. they never just stay on the skin. get dr's approval for any drug, topical or oral.

I would say the wash is probably safe but like Rachel mentioned you shouldn't let anything stay on your face. I know tea tree oil scrub works and you can also buy it to leave on skin which is safe.
