i dont know what the norm is but if you guys have a low progesterone level request that your doctors put you on progesterone pills or progesterone shots if not and it gets to low you will have a misscarriage.i had to misscarriages due to low progesterone one was at 6wks the other was at 10wks.low progesterone is not okay please take my advice.because with my 3rd pregnancy i had to take progesterone shots the whole pregnancy or else i would have lost my son.

Jody - I think you mean her hcg level (pregnancy hormone) not progesterone, because progesterone for the 1st trimester should be between 30 and 160. Okay, hcg levels for weeks 4-10 are (I will list low/median/high for each): week 4: 40/350/2000 ; week 5: 400/1800/10000 ; week 6: 1600/8000/33000 ; week 7 7000/25000/65000 ; week 8: 20000/50000/100000 ; week 9: 40000/65000/120000 ; week 10: 46000/70000/125000. It doesn't really matter whether you are on the low side, but whatever the number is it should double exponentially every 2 days or so. At 5 weeks an hcg level of 1200 would be fine, I'd say - just ask to check in a week from the first test and it should be about 9000 or thereabouts. The reason I know about this is that I'm 6 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy (1st one was m/c) and I'm obsessed with the numbers (lol!) I hope this has helped :-).
