I'm sorry your feelling depressed. Pregnancy can do a real number on your hormones. But I'd just be afraid to take Prozac. Have you thought of taking a mini vacation? Something to get you out of the house, have your room cleaned daily, go out to eat, etc. Sometimes people just need to get away from the daily routine and stress that builds up around us.

I would not take it, I had friends that took that and one had a premature baby and the other had a miscarriage! Up to u but I would not' girly its the hormones!! Trust" and you will probably end up having post-partum really bad I did and just start taking it after the baby is born skip b___st feeding you wont be able to take it and be normal!! Take care of your self after because it will get worse! I just wish I would of taken it sooner, then trying to ge the wonder women that we are not!

Hey NINI i know what you are going through because i felted after i had my first baby and i was on med for 3 years and finally got better but know i'm pregnant and i' going through something worst i have an anxiety disorder and i get panick attacks and i also get deppressed at the begging my doctor told me that i couldnt take anything and to calm down but it is a little hard, last visit he told anumber of medicines that can be taken and prozac is one of them so if you feel that u cant do it on your own go ahead dont let your self suffer when there is a solution, but i also tell you i have tried going to a therepist everyweek and doing everything she tell me has helped me a lot i havent taking any med yet but i have a feeling i'm going to have to do it later on i'm only 17 weeks. If you need a friend you can always e-mail me let me know if you want my e-mail. Good luck and god bless you and your baby.

I take Zoloft for depression and i am 34weeks pregnant. I was so depressed that I almost wanted to kill myself. I was happy about the pregnancy but still, was crying all the time over stupid things and could not stand my 5 year old boy. My doctor says Zoloft and Prozac are both safe. You do what you want and what you think is right, but if you really need it, id say take it. I know I really need it. Im a lot happier now and I dont have anymore anxiety attacks. I accually feel like a Normal Pregnant Woman. :)

Nini- sister in law has lupus and she was on prozac during her entire pregnancy and her daughter is perfect. I was feeling very stressed and pulled thin due to some personal issues at home and work was really long hours and I was feeling bad in all ways. I am lucky that actually tuesday I sat down went over my priorities and I am eliminating one of my main stressors. WORK. I have very long hours and my marriage is suffering and I feel horrible all the time so I also know how hard it can be. I think your doctor is giving you good advice at this point and I would also think about therapy. It has helped me learn to deal with stress and a very bad temper as well as work things out in my mind. I started going after an incident where I suffered post traumatic stress disorder and I have continued to go for 4 years now. I only go 4-6 times per year now it is still a huge help. I wish you all the best and please feel good about who you are and the fact that you love and yourself and your baby enough to talk to your doctor.
