can you shed tissue during your period, is that normal?

I believe your period IS the shedding of tissue from the fallopian tubes isn't it? The way I heard was that when an egg isn't fertalized, it goes through the fallopian tube, and when it hits the walls of the fallopian tube it sheds those tissues. It's been so long, but that's how I remember it.

It's not shedding the lining of the fallopian tubes, it's the uterus. But some clots are normal during a period.
