Question About Cm

I have been checking all the ovulation calculators and for the last two three months i have had a 31-32 days cycle. My problem is I don't seem to see any CM during the dates provided by the ovulation calender. So the last 2 cycles I started noting that my CM started way too early.... a day or two after my periods and were over by the time the predicted ovulating date arrived. For example if the calender said u should be ovulating starting 7- 14 of a given month . I had CM from 1-7 instead and none during 7th thru 14th. It was dry. I assumed I had ovulated already and stopped trying as I had bd from 1-7. This happened twice. Are the calculators wrong or is somethign else wrong here . Please advise.

I could never work out if I was ovulating by CM. I usually have creamy white CM at the beginning and end of the month but nothing in between. I worked out when I was ovulating by using OPK's. You can buy these off of the internet cheap. I bought mine from e bay £4 for 10 which is enough for one or two months.

that is interesting... Thanks Gem. I will try the opk's. But my cm goes to ewcm consistency when it is there. But when it disappears there is nothing. God knows what is happening. I am also reading a lot about preseed.May be I should buy that too.and just keep trying every other day all month.

i get that EGCM. Actaually I never knew what it was for the longest time. After my period and before it my CM was creamy white. Then in the middle of my cycle I would dry up for a few days and then it was whenever I was going #2 I would see the EWCM coming out. Always thought it was strange but then again I wasn't TTC. Then of course I read that when you see the EWCM you are ovulating and most fertile. Go by your body's signs, them calendars are more like guidelines.

For me, checking CM wasn't a reliable way of determining ovulation, mainly because I had CM almost all month. And I had EWCM far more days than the "norm". I say, do the BD about every other day from cycle to cycle. Maybe that will bring you better luck! :o)

those calenders are based on 28 day cycles, so are predicting dates of conception. I, like you have long cycles. Mine ranged from 31-40 days. Very unpredictable so to say I ovulate in a certain time frame is just a standard guess.

i thought so too krc.. but i am getting worried as even though i did follow my body and BD when i saw the EWCM the last two times .... no results so far... Infact i was so sure this time as i started having sore breats a week after my last AF and then had fatigue, headaches and bloating and twicthing in my abdominal area i thought yes!!!.I never get PMS so early ever... But it so happened that my AF started on day 28 when i generally had been having a 31-32 days cycle for the past couple months..... I was so sad. What was the use of my charting my cycles when now my AF started on day 28 and i was expecting it on 26th of jan it came on 21st. Never happened before but now that i am TTC I guess my body is playing tricks. Now I do not know when my next AF will start as the cycle has changed sudenly.. I am sort of down but at the same time determined to be more careful and try again this month. Today is day 4 of my AF. I intent to start trying just as soon as this is over.thanks for ur response.

smskam, Keep your head up!! I know how frustrating it can be! But you know what, the month that I stopped doing all of those things I was doing (charting CM, taking BBT every morning, using ovulation predictor sticks every day, taking Clomid, taking vitamin after vitamin, etc, etc), boom I was pregnant! Sometimes those things just tend to add stress to our lives. I seriously wish you the best of luck!! BABY DUST TO YOU*~*~*~*~*~*~*

thank u soooo much M. I can't tell u how stressed out i am ... every place u go .. it is like.. "oh where is the baby." infact even men tend to want to know why we haven't had our baby yet ...i couldn't beleive my ears.... infact recently this friend of our family whom i met at a party last month, told her daughter i was expecting ..i don't where that came from ?? and the daughter was asking me in front of other ladies at the next get together ... i was like" where did ur mom hear that.. i never even mentioned anything to her... i mean this was like three days ago.. i am so stressed thinking about having to attend another get together or even meet another family friend.. the worst is many gals who just got married are preg.. and now i am getting a bit crazy.. like i have to be preg NOW~~~i know i sound stupid .. but that is exactly how i feel...thank god for my husband.. he is really supportive....but i guess all my stress is also getting him worried... the funny thing is .. i was never in a hurry.. i really never felt this rush..but now i feeel like i am doing this more for the others...(ofcourse i want babies too). but i wasn't stressing before all these questions started to pop at every party or family gatherings....added to that last few times did not work and now i am worried...... i can't seem to be calm... just can't..i am constantly reading about babies and pregnancy ....i know i sound really stupid.....thanks so much for lending a ear to me.

No, no, no.... you do NOT sound stupid! It's strange people are saying you are pregnant for no reason. I understand the pressure. But just think... all of these girls are pregnant together, but when your time comes, it will be YOU shining in the spotlight!! Those supportive hubby's are priceless!! You just lean on him and you can get through anything. I know we are all anonymous here, but sometimes it's comforting to talk to others who know how you feel! So just know you always have a place to vent! You hang in there girl!! Your day is coming! Sending more baby dust your way *~*~*~*~*~*~*. I'm about to go home for the afternoon, but I'll be back tomorrow if you wanna talk some more! Take care!

Hi again smskam, I know how you feel we have been TTC for four months which I know isn't that long but I am very impatient. It is really upsetting for me too as all of my friends seem to be pregnant or have just had babies. I am hoping for BFP tomorrow but I am trying not to get my hopes up too much.

smskam - January 24

hey good luck to u gem.. hope things work out... i know it is easier said than done.. 4 months doesn't seem long but for the one trying each month.. those r really looong 4 months... so good luck...

Gem - January 25

Morning. Well I got a BFN. I am gutted but hoping that it is just too early to test as AF is not due until 28th or 29th which is 3 or 4 days.

krc - January 25

smskam....I tried for 6 months to conceive. Then I gave up and got pregnant in the 8th month w/o trying. My friend didn't get pregnant until after being married and desperately trying for 9 months, another friend was trying for over a year. Stress can put alot of strain on your body. I think thats why when women try the hardest..it takes longer, then when they're mentally fed up and give themselves a break it happens. You can't force mother nature. Just relax and enjoy the quality time you have with your husband because that will change completely when you have a child. Also my ex's entire family kept teasing me about being pregnant because he was the baby of the family and everyone already had kids except him. People were always like, " Your next " , hurry up , etc.... Now they're insisting Im having a boy. His mother is even buying me blue blankets & outfits! But dont rush it, stop stressing out and when your ready it'll come.
