Question For Bbk

Hi BBK You seem very well informed about many issues. Have you read any information regarding nail polish? I have only read one article that said not to paint the nails until after the baby is born, there are some chemicals that have caused birth defects in animals. I painted my nails this weekend and now I am stressing out.

Monica, much of the research out there is fudged to support various agendas. For example they may have exposed the animals on the chemicals for unreasonably long times so they can come up with these results, but in real life one would not for example be sniffing the nail-polish for an hour. So while I don't mean to put down any of my colleagues, all research should be taken with a grain of salt. If you use nail polish, it's prefered that you use one that is toluene-free, as the smell is mildly toxic. As far as I know Aveda has nail polish that is natural. Also try to be in a vendilated area. But don't worry about you painting your nails on the weekend unless you were sniffing the bottle trying to get a buzz from it :-)

Oh, and thank you for your kind words. I've got a bachelors in physiology and a masters in biochemistry. I never pursued either as a career, but I try to keep up with the research, especially when pertaining to pregnancy....I try not to go overboard :-)

thats for your help. I have decided to just paint them clear so that I wont have to paint them so often. Just want to do small things to make myself feel more attractive while feeling so fat.

Yes, my wife is concerned about the weight gain too, but she always was, though she's quite slim. You're probably the same way. It's only us men that when we stand in front of the mirror we suck our gut in, and feel like bodybuilders .... LOL

Actually BBK, you bring up an interesting point. Just yesterday, I was flexing in front of the mirror like I was Lou Ferrgino. Now I had just spent about two hours powerwashing my back porch, so I was quite muscular for about 3 minutes. But then, it started to fade, like it always does. Ahhh, but just for a moment, I felt muscular. Normally, I can bench press about 16lbs and can do anywhere between 2 and 2 1/2 push ups. How is that for a studly exercise regimen?!?!

Come on JL. There is a six pack in there some where.....it just has some padding on it

JLorenzo - March 28

Ha! What used to be a six pack is now a keg!

monica - March 28

keg.... thats exactly how I am feeling these days and I am only 22 weeks. my hair roots are so bad and my skin is breaking out.... geez could I look any less cute. But my husband is so proud of my big belly.... :)

rb - March 28

hey bbk and jlorenzo - you guys seem pretty cool... amusing me while i am avoiding working... it's funny that you guys were talking about six packs etc.... my husband actually is a bodybuilder and sometimes he has "fat" days - and when he makes remarks about how fat/skinny/pale etc. he feels, i just tell him.... "you ain't got sh*t on me!" - thanks for the laughs guys!

JLorenzo - March 28

Monica, I am proud of my wife's belly as well! That is a man pride thing! He probably thinks you are beautiful. And the current condition of your expanding belly probably makes him want to help you out even more! At least, that is how it is for my wife and I. She gets stuck in the couch and can only get up if I help pull her out! Now if she makes a snide remark to me, I won't use all my strength to help, but most of the time, I am willing!

BBK - March 28

22 Weeks, so you're due end of July? We're just two weeks ahead of you!

JLorenzo - March 28

RB, funny you mention this because when I was done powerwashing, I complained for two days how sore I was. My wife looks at me and rolls her eyes like I have alot of nerve for saying that! So essentially, I would have to be 75% dead in order to complain to her. And after she goes through labor, than I won't have any ground to stand on!

rb - March 28

that's too funny - yeah 75-85% would probably work for us ladies... another thing he complains about is how sore he is from training - that's when i remind him that i haven't been able to go to the gym in well over a month because i can't get the energy up to drive myself there... let alone work out... and you're right - once baby's here, let's hope you're either a good faker or in the best health of your life!!!

JLorenzo - March 28

Yeah RB, even us guys getting kicked in that "special" area won't get us a pat on the back or a rea__suring, "it's okay honey." I have to have a temperature of 111 before my wife even offers to make me hot tea! When the baby comes? I will have to call my mommy!

monica - March 28

bbk, yes I am due end of july and so far we are having a boy.

monica - March 28

jlorenzo, yes seem like its a mans pride to see their significant others pregnant. its been good.... everything has been my way lately.
