Really Worried Chicken Pox In Pregnancy

Hi all I'm 36 weeks pregnant and my son has got chicken pox. Problem is I don't think I've had chicken pox before and Ive read on several websites that it can be very dangerous to catch chicken pox in the later stages of pregnancy. Not only for my baby but especially for me as I may develop pneumonia, which can be fatal. I wondered whether anyone knew anything about this?

Not quite sure why you're corelating pneumonia with the herpes strain, but whatever. If you have a condition that could be "very dangerous" and "fatal" WHY WHY WHY are you going on the word of some internet chics??? For gosh sakes, get some sense and call your doc. :::: shaking my head :::::

That's note really that helpful eh? Where I live I'd have to wait about a day to get to a see a Doc or Midwife so I'd maybe think about asking a question too! Hayls - don't know the exact answer but my lovely cousin had a similar problem and got chicken pox when she was preggers. She and har lovely baby were fine. Don't worry. Trixiebee is correct that you should see a doc or other professional but don't stress out - or allow her to make you feel silly either.
