Scared And Feeling Very Alone

Yesterday i had my ultrasound and although bub is very healthy, and a boy :), i have a low lying placenta. Its 3.5cm away from my cervix and should be at least 5cm, so i was told i would have to come back for another ultrasound. All the info i have found on the internet has been if the placenta is touching over covering the cervix. I would really love to hear from anyone who has been or is in a similar situation

Hi Jodie~ i too had a low lying placenta when i went for my 1 u/s they discovered it i was 18 weeks. i went for my 2 u/s at 30 weeks and it moved out of the way most of the time they move and are no problems. when they told me i had one i was terrified, but everything is fine and in place and ready the babys head down and growing great. i am 33 weeks now and will be induced July 25. Good Luck:)

Thanks nelly, ive calmed down alot now, still very scared but not so emotional now. Its just bugging me that everyone around me keeps saying "stop worrying" which is quite easy for them to say as theyre not the ones going through this. I hope mine moves up aswell as i really dont want a caesarian, but in the end all that really matters is that i have a healthy baby
