Screaming Bad For Baby

My wife is 4 months pregnant - she yells a lot (I know it's the hormones, I'm not mad at her) and I'm wondering if the loud noise could be hurting the baby? I might be looking too far into this, but I just want to make sure it's safe and sound.

It is very noisey in utero. I doubt that her screaming would cause any hearing loss in your unborn baby. I would be more concerned with your wife's blood pressure. Ask her if there is anything that you can do to support her and help her stay calm. Good Luck!

The sound screaming probably won't hurt the baby..but when you scream your blood pressure goes up as does your stress level. Your body can secrete stress hormones..which are pa__sed along to the baby and are not good at all!She needs to calm down for the sake of baby. :) Best of luck to her and you...Kristin

I've never seen a more emotionally unstable person in my life :( I think the best thing for me to do is just tell her I love her and then run for my life - Thanks for your answers, it makes me feel a little better that she's not deafening the baby. At some point I'll have to have a talk with her about stress levels - (and then I'll run for my life again) :)

You know she may need a supplement or something, there are many sudies that show taking a supplement of omega-3 fatty acids helps with emotional distresses of pregnant women. I have been taking them and I have been very happy, when I don't because I forget I'll start feeling a little wacky. The baby robs the mothers body of this for their brain development, leaving the mothers brain lacking. There are many studies about this on the net, you just have to look them up. Although it sounds like she may not go for this suggestion it is worth a try. Good luck.
