Sex Every Day Or Every Other Day When Ovulating

I am currently using the Clear Blue fertility monitor and so I know which 2 days I ovulate every month. Due to work travel schedules, my husband and I were able to have s_x on those two days last month but did not get pregnant. I have been told by many that it is best to start having s_x a few days before ovulation until a day or so after but only to have it every other day. Can anyone confirm this? I know that it is early for me but I am anxious to start a family and I want to give my husband and I the best chance possible to conceive in the coming months.

It's best to have s_x every other day because it keeps the sperm count high. If you have s_x everyday the man does not have enough time to reproduce sperm. Also sperm lasts 3-5 days in most women so if you start having s_x a few days before ovulation and do it every other day you are sure to have sperms ready to go when you ovulate. The most chances of getting pregnant is a day before ovulation. Good luck :o)

I don't know if it was "the right" way to conceive but I went to a conception calander web site and punched in my info. it gave me a calander with my fertile week highlighted. We had s_x every one of those days except one. We got pregnant.

It is better to do it ever other day. Start as soon as your period is gone. Last month we did everday like rabbits. Sometimes even twice or 3 times a day and I did not get preggo. This month we have slowed down a bit and hope it helped. Good Luck!

Thank you all for the advice. I usually ovulate on day 14 or 15 and I think that we'll try every other day this month from a few days before ovulation until a day or so after. It's so hard when one or both of us travel for work on a regular basis but I know that it will all pay off in the end!

It is a myth that frequency of ejaculation affects sperm count. Take it from a doctor: mobility of sperm is very important, and the more you have s_x, the more mobile the sperm will be. You cannot "save up" sperm. The testes are consistently and constantly producing sperm, and frequency of ejaculation will not affect this. What has been said on this site about the time of the month is true: there is a 4 day window around your time of ovulation that is the best time to get pregnant. I hope this helps. Dr. Dan
