Sleeping On Your Back-pg60

I've been hearing that sleeping on your back while pregnant is bad for the baby. Is this true and why? In the middle of the night I find that I turn on my back often. If this is dangerous how do I prevent it.

During the first 3 months it is fine. When your baby starts to grow and you start showing, it is not good to sleep on your back for long periods of time. This is because the pressure of the baby pushes on the organs in your body. The bigger the baby gets, the more pressure it causes. It is best to sleep on your sides, your left side more so than your right. You can lay on your back, but not all the way on your back. Make sure you have some pillows behind you to prop you up. Good Luck!

Is the baby in any harm?

No.
