Subsequent Babies And Deliveries Help

I am pregnant with my second child and am getting scared to death of the labor/delivery process again. My first was born 8 1/2 years ago. The funny thing is they say you don't remember the pain of it all....well, I say they are full of c__p! I do remember and I get scared to death of this one! I was wondering from all of the women who has had more than one baby...did they get larger or smaller in size? Also, how did the labor go? Was is longer or shorter? Also, did it seem easier with subsequent ones to deliver (I don't see how....ouch)! With my son I was induced and it only lasted 4 1/2 hours total...start to finish. I'm scared this one will be like 24.

Hmmm ... I would also like to know ... my first time I was in labor for about 20 hours.

I have 2 toddlers. They are 1 and 2 years old. My 1 year old weighed 7 oz more than my oldest. My labor was also cut down by about an hour. It was more painful with my youngest but it was easier to push him out and was over sooner. Every labor is different.

I agree every labor is different, I was hoping to see a pattern of subsequent babies being smaller...I'm just scared to death. I'm sure if I could do it once, I can do it again. Just hoping it is easier the second time around.

I have a six year gap between my first and 2nd. 2nd time was much faster and easier. I knew how to push and tried to focus much more. Every delivery is different though! My third I was induced and it was my longest labor. It is worth it!

Haha Lexa!! i was in labor for 16 hours after being induced!! I am scared of this labor, most of the pain. However, we survived the first one, we will survive this one, and maybe more to come!! Because you were induced your labor could be much longer beacause you dont have all the synthetic hormones in your body. But you will be fine. I had a long labor with Pitocin so im worried about how long a natural one will be!!

My three babys got bigger. But that was ok becaus my first was only 5lb 6oz., second 6lb. 11oz. and third 7lb. 5oz. so none where big babys. Labor was much easier. My last baby I had only an hour after my midwife got to my house, I didn't even realize that I was already 10cm dialated. Even with my second it was much quicker and alot less pushing. My first I pushed for 2hr. my second 20 min and my third about 30 min. because he was really high. Every delivery is diffrent and ever person is diffrent though. Just remember you have done it once you can do it agien. And at the end of it all you will have a cute little baby to cuddle and love. Good luck.

Oh wow HannahBaby! I was induced with the Pitocin with my son and the doc wasn't sure how long it would take to work...well, it only took 15 mins to start it all! My nurse-midwife was shocked that it was only 4 1/2 hours total (my original doc retired). I thought maybe being induced made it all go more quickly, but I guess not. Hopefully this little peanut isn't like her big brother...not wanting to come out and I won't have to be induced. I am glad to see that it seemed easier with the others compared to the first. That makes me feel a little better. I can do it! (I really don't think I have a choice though, lol) We'll all be okay!

My first one I was in labor for 18 hours, and pushed for 1 hour. He was 7 pounds 5 ounces, and it was so painful!!! I was throwing up, all that good stuff. My little girl I was in labor for 17 hours, and I slept almost the whole time!! I woke up long enough for them to say ok you are ready to push. I pushed about 2 or 3 times, and out she came. She was 6 pounds, and 7 ounces. I was induced with both of them, but my little girl was so much easier!!!!
