Is to much sun or heat harmful during pregnancy?

Too much sun is damaging no matter what, so being pregnant on top of that probably has it's own share of risks. Although, I've looked at test results and it showed that babies whose mother carried them over the summer were smarter. They think it's because the sunlight shows through a little bit so they can see things surrounding them... but who knows... hope this helps a little bit! Good luck!

I am hating the heat right now while I am pregnant because I have to work in it standing on my feet. I am counting the days until I can stay home!!!

i am 37 weeks and live in sarasota florida. I go to the beach about twice a week. I have a great tan and when i get too hot I go and swim in the ocean which is good excercise and takes a load off my back !!! Think about it...how could too much sun be harmful. What about all those tribes across the world where women spend more time outdoors or the only time they were shielded from the sun was at night ??? It is safe to be out in the sun and heat is a matter of how much you can tolerate.
