This Is Probably A Very Dumb Question

When I heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks, it took the doctor a couple of minutes to find it, because she had the doppler in the middle of my stomach just under my belly button, then she moved it down and to the Left side of my stomach, and found the heartbeat then she turned off the doppler.....she never moved it to the lower right side of my stomach, that was at 12 weeks....I'm now 15 weeks...and my stomach is quite large....is there maybe a chance that there could have been ANOTHER heartbeat on the right side? could I be having twins? or was everyone else's baby's heartbeat found on the lower left side? This is probably a dumb question but this is my first pregnancy, and I'm just curious...thanks for reading my post :-)

I would say it is a probability. I am pretty surprised that your doctor didn't check around for himself to see if there was more then one heartbeat. You should know the answer to your question by your next visit though. Good luck if you want twins. And hell, good luck if you don't, it will be one hell of a lot of work. So interesting though I would think. I always wanted twins. They don't run anywhere in our family though. :-(

They always find my baby's on the left side. An ultrasound will verify multiples, until then just be glad you heard your babies heartbeat and everything is fine.
