I have very irregular periods (my last was nov. 15th!), so my question is, do I need to have my period to ovulate, or can I ovulate first without a prior period and then TTC? My hubby and I are TTC #1

You will ovulate about two weeks before your period starts... but if it's been that long since you've had one you may need to see a Dr to get something to trigger ovulation so you can have a period. Good Luck!

The answer is yes you will ovulate first without a prior period. It sounds like you may have PCOS or some other thing going on. You need to get a__sessed so you know what you're dealing with to prepare for ttc. Best wishes and Baby Dust!
