I'm 7 week preg. and am a little concerned becuase I just found at attached tick on my arm. It was not large but not the size of a pinhead either. I don't think it was on for very long, but still I am worried about lyme disease. I did a little bit of research and they said that the disease is usually transmitted after a couple of days of feeding. I can't help but still be worried. Anybody know anything about this????

first of all, when you pulled the tick out, did you get the head as well and was it still attached to the body? and second, here's a link that may help you out...http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/lyme/

I don't think you have much to worry about here. The chances of contacting Lyme disease is very slim. Last summer I went on a week long hiking trip and no kidding I ended up with over 20 ticks a day stuck to me (and about 100 a day just walking on me). I just about went insane, but I didn't get sick. Most types of ticks do not carry Lyme disease. Deer ticks are most likely to carry it. They are a smaller tick than most types and red while most other ticks are brown. You can call your local government health office and find out if the ticks in the area you were in are known to carry Lyme disease. They should be able to tell you.
