how long do you have to wait after a c section before you can get pregnant again?

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU WAIT 1 YR TO 18 MONTHS BETWEEN SECTIONS. iF YOU HAVE HAD MORE THAN 2 C-SECTIONS YOU NEED TO GIVE 2 OR MORE YEARS BETWEEN THEM AS YOUR UTERUS HAS A MUCH HIGHER OF RUPTURING.

Ask you doctor. Many don't make you wait any longer than 6 months. Your chance of uterine rupture will still be 1% if you get pregnant after 6 months. Your doctor can advise better. I had a section in August and will have a second in December. My doctor was not concerned in the slightest.

All mine were cesarean. I got pregnant with #2 when #1 was close to 3yo. and pregnant with #3 when #2 was 8 months old. Those last two cesareans were 17 months apart. Recovery with that one went just as well as the one before.

I Had a c section with my first and she is now 20 months and i am 18 week pregnant with my second. The tissue around the scar is still tender and is sore from streching with this baby. The muscel hasn't yet healed and is having trouble holding the baby in place, but i am a large girl of 80 kg and my fat belly would be contributing to that. I am having problems with this pregnancy that i never had with the first. Not sure if it's related to the c section thow. If you look after yourself and feel you muscle is strong. Then i would say 18 months would be safe. Goodluck!

This topic has had much debate on this site. However, opinions vary because doctors opinions vary. The old though was to wait at least one year, however that general concensus has changed. Most now say anywere from 3 - 6 months. I had the cla__sic vertical cut c section. I have a high risk perinatologist who said that I could start trying again anywere from 5-6 moths post delivery. They usually like for you to wait one year between cuts. Which means waiting at least 3 months if not a little bit longer before becoming pregnant again. You will have a diverse amount of opinions on this subject, but what matters is how well your recovery was, did you have any complications, your age and other factors. Speak with your doctor about this. Most physicians will still say 1 year however there are a lot of people who have gotten pregnant much earlier than that. Have a great day!!

I had an c-section and was pregnant again by the time my daughter was 6 months old everything went well and I had a natural birth. Good luck, and all the best.
