I'm 7 weeks today and registering EVERYWHERE because my husbands family lives about 1,000 miles away from us and are throwing us a shower when we visit in Feb. I was just wondering if there are any baby products that I just wont be able to live without? This is my first and I dont have a clue what's good and whats not. Thanks mom's! Also, my first prenatal appointment is in a week, any questions I should be sure to ask my OB? Thanks!

Have you asked for baby monitor's? They are a must, in my opinion. Also, baby wipe warmer. I never could stand to wipe my baby's bottom with a cold wipe and see him close his legs together because he was cold. Another neat thing to have is one of those halter things that you strap on yourself and the baby sits in it next to your body. That's also a good way to get "dad" to carry him/her around. I think it is so sweet to see a man carrying around a little baby in one of those things. Don't forget the little things like thermometer, nail clippers, diaper rash ointment (Johnson's makes a TERRIFIC one). My suggestion for bottles, Dr. Brown's... I LOVED those!! I tried many, hated the Avent, it leaked everywhere and the shape of the bottle is awkward. I also liked Playtex Nurser with the drop-ins. That's just a few things off of the top of my head. If I think of more, I'll come back.

Hooded baby towels, lots of blankets for swaddling your newborn (turn into burp cloths too), & fun puppets. I think babies love it when you hold a puppet in front of them and make silly noises. I do not have kids yet but I am expecting.

Yeah, they love those noises. I have mastered that second language: "poopy doopy diddy widdy goo goo". Of course, my youngest is hitting his terrible 2's and he's only 19 months, so the only language I use with him right now is "NO NO!" and "STOP IT!" As soon as we lay him down to bed, I pour myself a gla__s of wine, or pop open a bottle of beer! LOL

I can see myself tipsy with a puppet in one hand and a gla__s of wine in the other. It's going to be fun:)

I love Carters' brand, it seems to last the longest out of all of the baby clothes that i have. Diapers, diapers, diapers!!! They may not seem like much fun now, but trust me, you will be thankful you got them in the long run. I didnt have to buy diapers for the first 3 months of my sons life, thanks to showers! It was wonderful! If you plan to b___st feed, register for an ELECTRIC pump- manual ones suck! Receiving blankets are a must. I love the disposable washcloths by huggies, they already have soap in them. A vibrating chair saved my life! Kick and Play calming vibrations is the best in my opinion. It has a toy bar for when the baby is older and the WONDERFUL volume control. By the way-- the travel swings suck! Very unsafe, my son falls out of it if i put him in it. formula is a good thing too if you bottle feed. also ask for older clothes, you will get so many 0-3 your baby will never wear! My son loves his ocean wonders aquarium too, it hooks to the side of the crib- puts him right to sleep. Oh and a boppy is awesome. Ok thats enough now, i could go on all day

I plan to buy the Sleep Sheep by Cloud B. It has a heartbeat sound which can soothe the baby while sleeping. I hope it is worth the money... If the link shows any hyphens, it is a mistake that my computer makes. There should not be hyphens (-) in it. http://www.dreamtimebaby.com/slshbyclb.html
