I posted a question about best days for TTC but for some reason it wont let me make anymore posts in that thread. but anyways thanks for the info and dont worry about being to graphic, im married to a sailor! Im used to it. what does the mucus look like? all through out the month i have this creamy white stuff that i see in the panties when i take them off, but about a day before af comes it goes away. then about a week after af is done it comes back. is that what your talking about?

Okay, after your af is gone, a few days later you'll start noticing the white discharge. At first it's usually sort of pasty but the closer you get to ovulation, the thinner it becomes. Okay, don't mean to be gross but there's no other way of explaining it. Ya know when you b__w your nose and it's really thin and stretchy??? That's what your mucus will look like when you ovulate. Sometimes after you go to the bathroom and wipe, you can see it on the toilet paper and it will be really thin and slimy. You're probably ovulating or will be very shortly. Sometimes right before it gets like this it can also be stretchy but it will be much thicker. This will happen before AND after ovulation so you have to really pay attention and know the difference. Go on line and do a search on it. That's where I got my info or ask your doctor.

I forgot to mention. When it's ovulation time and the mucus is thin and stretchy, it's also really clear. But before and after ovulation when it is thicker, it's also more whitish/yellowish looking. For me some months were harder to tell than others. Sometimes when you're sleeping you could ovulate and then shower the next morning and not notice but if you count your days and watch for it you should be able to tell. It goes from kind of sticky/pasty to stretchy but thick and gooey, to very thin and clear and stretchy, then back to thicker and stretchy then just sort of pasty till your af comes. Hope nobody grossed out but women ttc probably know EXACTLY what I mean!

One more thing, this gets grosser, after you urinate and wipe, you can look at the tp and see if you notice the slime I'd call it. Sometimes during the day I could feel it draining and I'd just go and wipe and then see it on the paper and then I would do a stretch test. Just get some on your fingers and then touch your fingertips together and see how it stretches between your fingers. It will tell you to do this in any book you read so don't gross out. When you're ovulating you can get it to stretch pretty good and it will be really thin and clear and slimy. But before and after it will be more whitish and it will stretch but be more like rubbery and won't stretch very well. Gross huh? It may take you a few months to catch on and see the difference. I didn't even know this existed until I was like 28 and decided to track ovulation NOT to get pg. I did a lot of research on line and after a few months I could relate to what they were saying and avoided getting pg for almost three years. When you notice the mucus getting thinner, you wanna do the deed cus ovulation is very near! I bet everyone is just gagging if they're reading this. ha ha! But hey, it works.

AND FINALLY! Sometimes my s_x drive would kick up a notch when I ovulated. Mother natures way of getting you knocked up. So listen to your body! That's how I finally got knocked up. Mother nature shut off my brain when I wanted to stop!!!!!! Good luck! I'll stop now.
