Is is common to have a transva___al ultrasound at 7 weeks. My OB/GYN wants to do this type of ultrasound. Is this common?

As "m" said they are very common, especially in early pregnancy. My doctor told me that they can get alot better view of everything with the v____al ultrasound. At 9w 4d I had both kinds of ultrasounds (v____al and on top of my belly) and after seeing both, I can definetely see why they'd prefer the transv____al because I saw ALOT more with that kind. Hope this helps hon.

Yes, it's standard. It's not uncomfortable, either. They use a plastic probe covered with a condom, and the probe only goes about one inch inside. It's much less uncomfortable and invasive than a pelvic exam.

Yes, I am 7 weeks and just got mine, I heard the heart beat!!! I really suggest doing it. I had to I was too small for them to see.

I had one at 7.5 weeks and it was great! They are common to check for a possible tubal pregnancy and to see and hear the baby's heartbeat. I highly recommend getting one done.

very common, matter of fact that's usually the only way to pick up the baby because it's so small. I had one on my first appointment
