Trying For Twins

Hi everyone. I'm ttc and would love the opportunity to have twins. I know there is no sure fire way of having twins, but does anyone have any suggestions? I've heard high doses of folic acid -- but I'm sure it's just an old wives tale.

Twins have to be in your genetics. There is nothing you can do to help you to concieve twins, unless you do fertility testing. That would probably up your chances and maybe cause you to have triplets or more. HIgh doses of folic acid will not cause twins but it will cause you to have a healthy baby. People don't realize how important it is.

I actually read in a magazine recently that women who take folic acid before conception have a slighty higher chance of a multiple birth. I'm sure they must have checked this information before publishing. You really only have a high chance of having twins if they run in your family though. Older women have a slightly higher chance too.

Actually, only Fraternal twins run in families, most likely because of releasing more than one egg at a time running in the family (from mom obviously). There isn't any medical evidence currently, however, that identical twins run in families.
