TTC After A D Amp C

Hi Ladies, I found out I had a blighted ovum and my doctor recommened that I have a D&C at 8 weeks. That was last Tuesday. Well, he told me we could start trying again after two weeks. I know the internet can be a blessing and a curse, but I've read so much about doctors telling people to wait up to 3 months! Has anyone had a D&C and started trying 2 weeks later? If so, did you have a successful pregnancy? I'd love some info. I would like to start trying right away since my doctor seems okay with it, but if other people have had bad experiences I'd like to know. I can wait a month if it means having a healthier pregnancy. THANKS!

Hi Jenn, sorry for your loss. I had a m/c in 12/07 and my doc too told me to wati 3 months...but said the 3 was arbitrary (sp) as that gives the woman time to heal emotionally. I too did a lot of research and it seems 1-2 months is average. You can certianly try again even before AF shows the 1st time, but that makes it really hard to date the pregnancy. Plus, your lining may have been stripped very thin in the D&C so getting pg immediately might not be so great. I haven't had experience per se. I did wait 2 cycles just for my own peace of mind, we ttc this month, but it's not looking so good. I'd say if you are emotinally ready, then it would be okay after 1 cycle. I wanted to wait at least 1 though just to make sure my body went back to "normal" after the procedure.

Jenn, I am sorry for your loss. I am going through what you are going through right now. I found out that I had a blighted ovum too just two wks ago. Last week my doctor did a D&C on me and he told us that after two weeks we could begin trying again too. I am very hopefully that we will get pregnant soon since we have been ttc for almost a year now. I am heartbroken and can only imgaine the pain you feel because I know I feel alot of mixed emotions.

two weeks is fine and you will be very fertile after a d&c as long as you can emothionally handle it go for it
