My nurse at my doctor's office told me it was ok to take Tylenol P.M. I use it of course at night because I have trouble's getting to sleep. Do you think it's safe to take it every night, well almost every night?

Whew Just so you know Tylenol P.M. Is my life and has been WAAAY before I got pregnant lol. I suffer from insomnia. Anyways, you can take it, but you might want to use it for a couple nights, then skip a few days. Because the acetaminophen can screw up your kidneys or something like that when your not pregnant, so i dont want to find out what it'll screw up when you are. Sooo take it but ration it out. =D

Tylenol dot com says, "Can I use Tylenol PM if I'm pregnant or nursing? If you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using Tylenol PM." The ingredient that makes you sleep is the same as in benadryl: Diphenhydramine hydrochloride. Here's what rx list has to say about it: "Pregnancy Category B Reproduction studies have been performed in rats and rabbits at doses up to 5 times the human dose and have revealed no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to diphenhydramine hydrochloride. There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed." I would just use it when you really need to, but it does not look too scary, particularly if your doc said it's ok.
