It is usually around the 20th week.so that would be the 5th month or so!

Sometimes, your Dr. will do one earlier, BUT insurances won't pay for more than one nowadays. I would wait until after 20 weeks, cuz you can see more details, including the s_x. It is AWESOME!!!!

You can have an ultrasound as early as 6 weeks. The doctor will know what is there but you might not be able to tell.

manda - August 6

12 or 16 weeks

I think it depnds more on your past pregnancies. I had a m/c with my first one, so the second time around they did an ultra sound at 7 weeks, and then 11 weeks. My doctors just want to keep a close eye on this one.

How acurate are the doctors with the dates from ultrasound. like at predicting how far along you are.

Tanya - August 8

Yeah Melissa is right, you can have one as early as 6 weeks, heartbeat will not be detected yet, the accuracry is pretty high, the eralier the better, since all babies start out he same, but as time goes babies tend to grow at different rates, making the it less accurate to determine how far along you are. hope that helps

I got mine at 18 wks, that would be quite acurate right, or at least within a two week frame?

I just missed my period early this week and my doctor is sending me for one in two weeks, we dont have to pay for them though, its free here. I couldnt imagine having to pay for things like that. We are so lucky here
