i have had 3 negative blood tests, but the ultrasound i had last thursday showed a sack. has anyone had this happen? am i having a miscarriage? my dr can't tell me anything, other than i have a uti, yeast infection, and my cervix was open

Unfortunately it is not a good sign that your cervix is open. If you were farther a long they would maybe suggest a cerclage to stich your cervix closed. I have know that it isn't uncommon for an early ultrasound to show just a sac but with your cervix open sounds like maybe a miscarriage. Are you bleeding? Bleeding with cramps and clots are signs of a miscarriage. God bless!

Suppose to be "I know that it is uncommon"

yes i have what my normal period would be, thats how i found out, i was phoned to book yet another ultrasound as we have discovered i have a cyst on my right ovary, and i said i couldn't i got my period, then i was told i was 4 weeks 5 days pregnant, thats not right, and she doesn't seem to care

wow...that is strange.i will go to another dr that seems to care more an dthat will give u a explaination. i'm scheduled for an u/s on monday and a blood test tomorrow. i'm 8 weeks late so i hope theu/s shows something promising

you really need to get a second opinion

auggiebetrue - February 13

i go for an ultrasound tommorow morning but i doubt they tell me anything

When u go for ur u/s tomorrow i think u should ask plenty of questions. No question is a dumb question so I will ask my dr everything thats running in my mind. when they do the u/s tomorrow ask them if u r indeed pg and if so, do they thiink ur chances of miscarriage is high. Ask them how far are u and if they can see a baby. dont be afraid to ask...and i want u to keep me posted. make sure u come back tomorrow and let me know what happened

i will repost, u/s techs don't like telling you anything though, but my husband and i are thinking about going to another dr, for a second opinion tommorow after that ultrasound, especially if they won't tell me anything.

what topic are u reposting under. I was on another one of my threads and the girl also told me that the u/s tech dont tell u anything. That is weird. I wonder why they dont like to tell u what's going on. It hard enough to wait until it's time for the u/s...especially for first time mommy's like myself...then for them to keep u in suspense? That's just mean lol

because the ultrasound technician is a technician....while they do know what they are looking at 99.9% of the time, if they were to tell you something, and it were incorrect then everyone would be in big big trouble. legally only a dr can interprete a technicians findings.

just so you know it was the radiologist that said i was pregnant, not the tech, the tech didn't even comment on it. and i'm crossing my fingers, my bleeding seems to be stopping, at least slowing down anyway (and if it is quitting its shorter than my norm period) the last few have been like 7 to 8 days if you count the spotting on the last 2 or 3 days.

missjazzyjay - February 13

Jezebel that is true. I forgot about the legal part of everything. But do the tech let u look at the screen while they r doing it?

missjazzyjay - February 13

Auggie I'm so happy to hear that the bleeding is stopping. We want the little bean to stick. Keep me posted

auggiebetrue - February 13

well i thought it was, but its also getting watery, but i do have a yeast infection, so maybe thats why its watery. yes i would love for that bean to stick, i just hope that i haven't been worrying and kinda grieving for it if it wasn't even there to begin with, since its only been spotted on the u/s

i just discovered something interesting, to be the 5 weeks the ultrasound said, i would have conceived around when my last period was due (the one i missed)......... and around the time my last period was due i had a spot of blood once a day every other day for a few days.

auggiebetrue - February 14

well all i can tell you is that the tech wouldn't tell me anything, the only way to find out is to wait for the radiologist to read it. which might be as early as tommorow, and my drs office is only open for half the day. my bleeding was calming down until after the ultrasound, but that might go back to the way it was later today (it was a vag u/s). thank you so much for all of your support. I also think it was the cyst bursting as i have read that can cause period like bleeding, and clots (i also had pain over where the cyst is that hurt all one night, and a morning then vanished)
